This was a year that the consistency of the Beatles in putting albums together began to spread to other groups. There are four albums, in particular, that got left off this list that were, in all candor, tough to leave off. Those were Hot Buttered Soul by Isaac Hayes, Led Zeppelin's self-titled debut, In the Court of the Crimson King by King Crimson, the Band's self-titled album and Everybody Knows This is Nowhere by Neil Young. To have 15 solid albums (and there are other very good ones in this year) means it was a good year in music.
Here are the ten that in my opinion are the best of 1969 (in no particular order):
Led Zeppelin II
Blood, Sweat & Tears
Green River
Willy & the Poor Boys
Bayou Country
Abbey Road
Crosby, Stills & Nash
Blind Faith
Let It Bleed
Santana
