Rod the Mod was the frontman for several bands (Steam Packet, the Faces, and others) but when he released "Maggie May" in 1971, people took notice. Although he was a big star, I think his comeback in the late 80's really cemented his status as a superstar. Wow, what would it be like to reach the Top 10 in your native country with every studio album but 2 (24 of 26)?! When an artist approaches 50 or 60, it's difficult to stay relevant.
