The Best Simon & Garfunkel Albums

As opposed to the top selling albums.  These are ranked by quality and do not include compilation albums.

    1.  Bridge Over Troubled Water--one of the great albums in music history.  Solid.  It contains the classic title song, "Cecelia" and "The Boxer" but obviously this isn't ranked #1 just because of the hits.  "Keep The Customer Satisfied" is a great song that the duo played on their most recent concert series.  "Baby Driver" is another of those toe-tapping, make you want to dance songs that Simon is so good for.  "Bye Bye Love" is done so well that the Everly Brothers now appear with Simon & Garfunkel to do the song live.  "The Only Living Boy in New York"--more great Simon lyrics.  "So Long Frank Lloyd Wright", "Why Don't You Write Me", tons of great tracks.

    2.  Bookends--This is not near as well known or as big a seller, but "Bookends" is an incredible album and is not that much below BOTW.  Did you know that "America", "At The Zoo", "Bookends", "Fakin' It", "A Hazy Shade Of Winter", "Mrs. Robinson" and "Old Friends" were all on this album?  Didn't think so, it's surprising to this day that they could be so on fire for one studio album.  This was written at a time when Simon was growing tremendously both as a songwriter and an artist.  This is just a great album to put on and listen all the way through.

    3.  Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme--Another great album with "For Emily, Whenever I May Find Her", "Homeward Bound", "Scarborough Fair", "The 59th Street Bridge Song (Feelin' Groovy)" and "The Dangling Conversation".

    4.  Sounds of Silence--Written after the hit that is called "Sound Of Silence".  It does contain that song as well as "I Am A Rock" and "Kathy's Song".

    5.  Wednesday Morning, 3 A.M.--Their first album.  Very raw.  Still a good listen, and a must if you are a huge S & G fan.Source URL: http://acsblogrock.blogspot.com/2011/03/best-simon-garfunkel-albums.html
